Of the 48 that I purchased 2 arrived broken which I didn't think was bad but based on other reviews I would assume this is common so price a few broken containers into your purchasing decision. Despite several arriving broken they are more than sturdy enough for shoes and I have them stacked 10 high and could have easily stacked them higher. They stack very easily and fit together well. I wear a size 8 1/2 and I love high heels and even my highest heels fit into the boxes although for heels over 5 inches you do have to angle the shoes opposite each other and lie them flat to fit them into the box. Good for organizing smaller items. Appreciate that they are see-through.Downsides: * The lids don't always snap on as easily as I would like. * The product description says "perfect shoe size" but there is no way a pair of my shoes would fit in these unless they were flats or flip flops. To be fair, I have "Flintstone" feet (size 10 1/2 - 11). I typically check Amazon first before I buy almost anything and usually end up buying here, so I was surprised to see that these were $2 each. I've seen them for $1 or less at many other stores and most of mine I've bought at 0.89 to 0.95. Anyway, about the boxes themselves...they're durable enough for storage and keeping things organized but if you're looking for something that can hold up to moving, being bumped around, or heavier items, they're probably not the best choice. The lids are pretty secure and stay on as long as the box isn't overstuffed but I've had several lids and a few of the actual boxes crack on occasion. I've never bought bigger than the 6 quart size of this type for exactly that reason.
